Tragedy struck in Arlington, Texas, when a three-year-old boy named Bakari Williams fell victim to a rare brain-eating amoeba called Naegleria Fowleri at a public splash pad. We exert our efforts to ensure the safety of splash pad facilities and prevent such tragedies in the future.

With the help of The Stewart Law Firm, the family of Bakari filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city. After extensive litigation, a settlement was reached between the family and the City of Arlington, announced on March 31, 2022.
